demisexuality causes a lot of gay people to manifest their internalized homophobia into a label and for cishets to believe they’re lgbt because they want to form an emotional bond with someone before fucking, also whether someone wants to have casual sex or not is LITERALLY normal BOTH scenarios are normal and in the end no one cares if you wanna have casual sex or not because someone’s sex life isn’t business they should be sharing freely, please use the few brain cells you seem to have to learn reading comprehension because nowhere in my original post did i say “people who have casual sex aren’t normal” lmfao

The label exists because everything from the existence of porn, to one-night-stands, to something as simple as every freaking tv character fantasizing about some cute classmate or barista they’ve never spoken with suggests that being attracted to hot strangers is the norm, so people who never experience attraction that way end up feeling alienated and find it useful to have vocabulary to talk about it. People are being so obtuse about this, honestly. Saying ‘demisexuality is just how everyone is’ and then lusting after celebrities two seconds later. And ps, not being demisexual doesn’t mean you go around having casual sex all the time; it’s literally just a matter of being attracted to people you don’t know that well, which is extremely common and nothing to be ashamed of if you don’t act on it irresponsibly.

Also, not loving the logic behind this argument, because A) it seems to imply that gay/bi labels need to exist because they aren’t normal, and B) sounds too much like those passive-aggressive homophobes who tell gay people that they can do what they want in private, but no one needs to know who they’re sleeping with. Like, if you’re really worried about gay kids misidentifying due to internalized shame about sex, maybe telling them ‘ew no one wants to know about your sex life lmfao’ isn’t the best approach.
